Susan Shanley, LCSW is a psychotherapist as well as a Certified Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner, mediator, and muralist. Her approach to therapy is holistic and eclectic and includes both traditional and complementary therapies--from insight-oriented therapy to Energy Medicine, Energy Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
A licensed clinical social worker for 20 years, Susan specializes in matters of the heart and spirit. She has extensive experience assisting people who have lived with anxiety, depression, panic, grief, relationship challenges, and traumatic personal histories.
Along with individual psychotherapy, Susan offers wellness classes, presentations, and training seminars. including classes on Eden Energy Medicine and Energy Psychology.

As a process of self-exploration, psychotherapy can help clarify thoughts, feelings, and intentions. It can also be an aid in overcoming interior roadblocks to positive change. Psychotherapy can be supportive when a person is seeking to release old emotional patterns and behaviors in order to create space for emotional and spiritual growth. It can be beneficial to people who have experienced or are experiencing any of the following:

EDEN ENERGY MEDICINE:
Susan offers introductory, intermediate, and year-long advanced classes in Energy Medicine. Classes are based on the work of Donna Eden, renowned pioneer in the field. Participants gain an awareness of the latticework of energy systems that fill & surround the body, and learn safe and gentle self-help exercises to enhance health. These simple and effective tools have been found to greatly benefit mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
Introductory Energy Medicine classes:
Through hands-on practice over six weeks, participants learn:
- Exercises to protect, support, and balance one's energies
- Simple techniques to calm the Fight/Flight/Freeze Response
- An energy-wellness routine that promotes self-healing & well-being
- How to trace meridians, clear and balance chakras, weave the aura, and energy test
Intermediate and advanced Energy Medicine classes:
- Classes delve more deeply into nine energy systems, including the chakras, meridians, aura, Five Elements, and Radiant Circuits. Participants acquire a vast array of self-help tools to boost their vitality and strengthen their foundational energy systems.
- Participants learn exercises and techniques to remove stagnant and persistent unwanted energies and to shift negative emotional patterns, thereby increasing their sense of joy in life. They practice gentle techniques designed to alleviate feelings of depression, fear, anger, panic, anxiety, and grief, as well as techniques designed to relieve stress associated with hormonal imbalances and pain. As the foundational energy systems strengthen and rebalance, one's core sense of self-esteem can be enhanced.
MEDIATION:
Susan also offers family and divorce mediation. With 20 years of experience as a mediator, she has special expertise with child custody and visitation issues.

"My goal as a therapist is to create a space where people can gently and safely explore themselves and their lives in order to achieve greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, healing, and energy for life.
I offer a variety of self-help tools that are tailored to meet a person's unique needs. With respect and compassion, I collaborate with children, adolescents, and adults to reach toward increased health, balance, and joy.
