Ann’s clinical psychotherapy practice is based on an embodied, integrative understanding of an individual. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions and spiritual counseling.
Ann utilizes a technique she created called Mindfulness-Based Embodiment™ which uses mindfulness-based cognitive therapy along with somatic interventions for optimal healing.
Ann is an author and speaker as well as being a licensed, practicing psychotherapist for over 27 years. Her first book, Befriending Your Body: A Self-Compassionate Approach to Freeing Yourself From Disordered Eating, was released through Shambhala Publications August, 2018. She is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and has a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology. Ann hold a certificate in mindfulness through the Institute of Meditation and Psychotherapy, and is a Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher. She is also a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), certified yoga teacher, and both a teacher and trainer of embodiment.
